Want to walk with us in the Pride Winston-Salem parade on Saturday, October 15th? Register to let us know!
Wake Forest will have a walking group in this year’s Pride parade, and we hope you will join us! Grab your black and gold (if you need a Love is Love shirt, let us know!) and we’ll provide the RAINBOWS! All are welcome to join – however, we do appreciate your registration so that we can give the Pride Parade Coordinator an approximate headcount. ADDITIONALLY, Wake Forest has been asked to carry the BRAND NEW 60 FOOT PRIDE FLAG that is debuting in this year’s parade; our carrying the flag is meant to represent the young generation of LGBTQ and ally people who will be shaping our community now and in the future. This is a great honor, and we hope you will join us to be a part of it!
The parade rolls our at 11:00, so all walkers will need to be in place by 10:00 am. You are welcome to enjoy the festival afterward! The parade route covers about 8 blocks in downtown Winston-Salem. If you have questions or concerns regarding the route, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The LGBTQ Center provides support and advocacy to Wake Forest University’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning students, faculty and staff, and education to the entire campus community about issues of gender identity and sexual orientation.
Join Wake Forest University as we march in the Winston-Salem Pride Parade. The LGBTQ Center, Z. Smith Reynolds Library, and Office of the Provost have joined forces to sponsor a Wake Forest float and we would love to see droves of Deacons come out to march with us! To sign up to march with us, please click here to fill out a brief interest form.
We will share more information regarding the start time and meet-up location when it becomes available.
