Bio
Zobia Akhtar is the Program Coordinator for the LGBTQ+ Center. In this role, Zobia develops and facilitates intersectional programming that uplifts and affirms LGBTQ+ identities. She graduated from Wake Forest University with an MA in counseling and had previously done a BA in Sociology at the Lahore University of Management and Sciences. Zobia previously served as the Program Coordinator at the Wake Forest University Women’s Center. With a background in Counseling and DEIB advocacy, Zobia is passionate about creating inclusive spaces that foster belonging, community, and resilience. She brings valuable experience in student engagement, program development, and community organizing, ensuring her work centers diverse voices and lived experiences.
Zobia is very passionate about gender equality, the provision of safe spaces for individuals to express themselves, and playing her part for the betterment of the world however possible.
